Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are liquids brushed all over the face to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new cells to reveal fresh and glowing skin.
A chemical solution is applied to the skin that causes it to exfoliate and eventually peel off.

Chemical peels can treat any of the below conditions:
- Acne scars
- Aging skin
- Crows feet
- Hyperpigmentation
- Melasma
- Scars
- Sun damaged skin
- Wrinkles or sagging skin

Although a chemical peel is likely to sting, they do not cause a great deal of pain. The solutions that are used for this treatment are gentle. Redness, irritation and crusting could occur but these will adjust and lessen fairly quickly after the treatment.

Depending on the type that you go for, you should expect some follow up care with the dermatologist. In some cases, lotion may need to be applied and a use of daily sunscreen is likely, as the skin can be more susceptible to sun damage following the treatment.

Make up can be worn, however, monitor the sensitivity of your skin prior to applying as not to cause lasting damage.
